Our First Farm: The Flying Farmstead
2 models one purpose
Both types of our farms are built on the same foundation: creation-care agriculture that protects, heals, and regenerates the land. We avoid harmful chemicals, we use technologies that support soil health, and we honor animals through humane, respectful practices. Both are strategically located around larger population areas.
The difference is simple:
Ministry First Farms exist primarily to cultivate people—discipleship, healing, community, and training—while also producing healthy food. All products are by donation. Operated by Legacy Builders Ministries 501(c)(3)
Farming First Farms exist primarily to produce nutritious food for the local community using regenerative methods—while still creating space for discipleship, training, and community life. All products are for sale. Operated by Coops, Employee owned companies, LLC's etc. These farms continue for generations, the operators can change but the farm stays.
Both are expressions of the same mission: Cultivating People + Cultivating Land = Kingdom Impact
More on Ministry First Farms
This is the backbone of our ministry. A working church farm focused on cultivating people as we cultivate land. Here we learn how to practically walk out our faith together in biblical community. We don't just train on great farming and gardening practices but on practical ways to steward our lives and walk in a deep relationship with the Lord.
Stewardship is the key! God gives us a seat of authority, a seat that we can pull up to his table and partake of bread of life. This seat has four living legs that we must actively manage and cultivate. They are
1: Food / Fitness: Only you are responsible for your body and health.
2: Finances: Only you are responsible for your financial management and your response to the love of money.
3: Family / Friends / Enemies: Only you are responsible for how you treat other people
4: Faith: Only you are responsible for your relationship with our. Father.
Everything is disigned to bring the community on the farm.
U-pick instead of market, One site workshops, Homeschool Support, Hosting meals, Worship Services, Interns and Volunteers, Shared kitchen and shop and animal production facilites.
Instead of selling our products like a typical farm we offer our products through a donation model. Can't afford to pay, then we will pray. Our properties are open for meetings, prayer, volunteer's, discipleship, workshops, and more.
