An Appeal to Heaven, Declaration of Dependence
When in the course of human events, it becomes clear that a nation has strayed from the foundation that made it free, it is the solemn duty of a faithful people to rededicate themselves to the living God.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, our Founders stood against an earthly tyrant. In their desperation, they raised a banner over our first ships that declared: "An Appeal to Heaven." They knew that when earthly authorities fail, our ultimate recourse is to the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, the Supreme Judge of the world.
Today, we recognize that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. The true tyrant seeking to destroy our families, divide our communities, and detach us from God’s creation is Satan himself—the author of isolation, confusion, and spiritual decay.
We see his influence clearly in the evil development of overreaching, faceless entities: big government that seeks to replace God and strip away our god-given freedoms, and big corporations that worship profit over people, poisoning our communities and enslaving families to a system of debt and dependency.
Therefore, we reject the enemy’s counterfeit version of independence, which only leads to bondage. On this historic milestone, we boldly declare our absolute Dependence upon God and one another.
Our Covenant of Rededication:
We Appeal to Heaven: We declare Jesus Christ as the true source of our unalienable rights, our freedom, and our salvation. We stand on His word that:
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." — Matthew 28:18
We return to Him in repentance and prayer.
We Resist the Enemy: We stand firm against the spiritual forces of darkness, protecting our marriages and raising our children in the faith—independent of the corrupting systems of the world. We actively obey the command to:
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." — Ephesians 6:11
We Care for the Needy: We break away from reliance on government systems and corporate charity by taking personal, local responsibility for the vulnerable among us. We commit to a pure, active faith as defined in God's word:
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." — James 1:27
We Cultivate the Soil and the Soul: We commit to honoring God’s creation through responsible stewardship, building strong, biblical communities, and learning to live under God's provision. We lay hold of His sacred promise to redeem our communities:
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." — 2 Chronicles 7:14
