A Worldwide Christian Declaration of Dependence
Launched July 4th, 2026 — Marking the 250th Anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence
While the world pursues earthly autonomy and independence, the global Body of Christ stands unified in a completely different reality. We recognize that one of the greatest dangers facing the modern Church is a lifestyle of passive compromise—professing Jesus as Lord while living completely indifferent to His coming and His commands.
We reject the illusion of self-sufficiency. We shake off the spiritual slumber of our age and step into an unshakeable eternal perspective, anchoring our lives and ministries in an absolute, unwavering dependence on our reigning King.
1. The Mandate: The Great Commission Commandment
We pledge our lives to execute the Great Commission, recognizing that Jesus holds all rule, dominion, and sovereignty:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:18-20
Submitting to His Absolute Authority: We do not look to human political systems or cultural trends for our security; we depend entirely on His sovereign banner.
The Mandate to Make Disciples: We refuse to settle for casual, consumer-driven religion. We dedicate ourselves to the urgent work of reproducing faithful followers of Christ—teaching absolute obedience to His commands in our homes, our communities, and across the nations.
2. The Weaponry: The Keys and the Sword
We refuse to sit back in passive defeat while darkness encroaches on our families and nations. We declare our dependence on the spiritual weapons and authority given to the Bride of Christ:
The Keys of the Kingdom: We actively take up the authority Christ granted to His Church to govern, guard, and advance His kingdom.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” — Matthew 16:19
The Sword of the Spirit: We stand firm against the deception of the enemy, laying down carnal arguments and taking up the uncompromised truth of the living Word.
“Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” — Ephesians 6:17
3. The Source: Abiding in the Vine
We declare that our spiritual authority and warfare mean absolutely nothing without deep, daily intimacy with Jesus. We cannot manufacture Kingdom fruit through human striving; we must live entirely plugged into the Source.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5
4. The Posture: A Lifestyle of Repentance
We recognize that spiritual authority is completely hollow without personal purity. We cannot effectively bind darkness in the world if we are harboring compromise, apathy, or hidden sin within our own hearts. Judgment begins with the household of God, and we invite the holy fire of His presence to clean us from the inside out.
We live with an open, vulnerable heart before the Lord, actively crying out for Him to search us:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” — Psalm 139:23-24
True repentance is not a one-time emotional event; it is a daily, intentional turning back to absolute alignment with God's holiness. We refuse to justify our flaws or flirt with the world's standard. We choose high spiritual vigilance, welcoming the conviction of the Holy Spirit so that we may live blameless and above reproach.
5. The Urgency: Preparing the Wedding Garments
We look ahead with holy fear and eager expectation to the marriage of the Lamb. The King is coming soon, and He is not returning for a distracted, compromised bride. He is returning for a purified people who did not waste their lives on what is temporary, but instead invested in what is eternal.
We answer the urgent call to prepare our wedding dress, knowing that our bridal garments are woven through active, urgent obedience to the King's commands:
“And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” — Revelation 19:8
Every soul discipled, every truth taught, every stand taken for righteousness, and every moment spent in holy covenant fellowship is a thread in that bridal garment. We will not stand before Him empty-handed or in shame.
The King is coming. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. Remaining in Him, we invite His searching gaze, take up our authority, wield His Word, and go forth to make disciples of all nations. Our choice, our preparation, and our absolute dependence begin now.
