Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1st Peter 4:10
Biblical Community & Stewardship
A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION TO OVERCOMING POVERTY
We are dedicated to equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values to nurture their God-given talents, resources, and relationships. We strive to empower individuals, families, and communities to live a life of Biblical stewardship, not just the knowledge of a principle but to become living testimonies, leaving legacies of love, compassion, and grace to this generation and those to follow. We are focused on training trainers with specific strategies tailored to each people group and their specific needs.
Our focus on Development
Starting in Malawi
Through partnership with The Source we are helping develop their community center in Malawi Africa. The Source Malawi was started in 2016. With headquarters near Lilongwe, they carry ‘the warm heart of Africa’ with them in all that they do. Originally started to care for children without families or homes, The Source Malawi is expanding to become a training center.
The goal of legacy builders is to come alongside training centers like The source and establish Sustainable organizations lead by locals. We aim to help with "seed" funds but train towards self sufficiency.
Teachings of stewardship, faithfulness, humility, and unselfishness are woven throughout the skills training to develop character in the leaders and bolster resiliency during various trials in life and opposition in the community.
Stateside Training & Demonstration
Sending Workers
We are developing a working demonstration and training farm in Spokane Washington. We are preparing over seas workers and missionaries with sustainable agriculture and cultural training. We also provide local training to homesteaders and existing missionaries.
We have a big vision to developed the 8.8 acre farm with all of the facilities needed for a complete training center. We are also in conversations with two Christian colleges that are interested to partner with us in developing an agriculture ministry.
We are also preparing to be a sustainable ministry of Gods grace in the event of a national crises.
Our Views on Stewardship
We strive to live our lives and incorporate these values in all that we do
Most of us have heard the famous saying "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." But this isn't really true, teaching a man to fish only feeds him when the fish are available to be caught. We would change this common saying to "Give a man some food and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to steward his life Biblically and you will feed him and his family for generations" This is the heart of our ministry, to bring a sustainable solution to to overcome poverty.
SOME STEWARDSHIP VALUES WE TEACH
God calls us to go on a journey with Him. He has a plan for our lives.
Ownership – God owns everything we are His stewards.
Care - We are to care for His creation and practice ethical farming methods.
Work – Work is a blessing.
Spending – Understanding needs from wants and the importance of budgeting.
Debt – Understanding its negative impact.
Saving and Investing – Planning for the unexpected and the future, creating a discipline of denying ourselves.
Giving – Learning the joy of giving and being generous.
Knowing God – The key of a heart transformation. God is a good God and is knowable and accessible.
Honesty and integrity - The importance of creating a foundation based on integrity and honesty.
Leaving a Legacy – Planning to leave an inheritance of character and wealth for our children or loved ones.
Relationships - We are to treat others they way would treat ourselves and even to love our enemies.
Authority - We have access to the authority of Christ to do his will on the earth.
loading..."Reboot 2024"
Legacy Builders Ministries was originally formed in 2015 and has just launched "Reboot 2024" The baton has been past to a new generation to run the next leg of the race laid out before us. The new board of directors has added a new focus on sustainable agriculture training to meet our vision of Biblical stewardship and disciple making. See how we plan to get there: strategic plan 2024.
Individuals worldwide are deciding to follow Christ and embrace His teachings on stewardship through the support and efforts of Legacy Builders donors, partners, and volunteers. Collectively, we are promoting God's stewardship principles and lifestyle, spreading this knowledge to diverse populations—rich and poor, urban and rural—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to live freely in Christ.
Our Biggest Needs & Prayers
Our biggest need is for the development of faithful prayer and financial partners. Legacy Builders didn't have any income at the time of this leadership transition. Courtney and Beth Zehr have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators for 17 years. They have felt called to transition from Wycliffe to launch the vision of "reboot 2024". They have resigned from Wycliffe as of June 30th 2024 and with Wycliffe's approval have invited all of there existing partners to transfer their partners to Legacy Builders Ministries.
Our biggest need is for monthly income to meet the Salaries set by the board. Currently the Zehr's are needing to work outside of ministry to make ends meet. Our other needs are large start up funds for the training centers. We need to have some more infrastructure built before we can supply this critically needed training.
We are so grateful to for Gods direction into this new ministry and full of faith that he will provide all of our needs in His perfect timing. If you sense God directing you to be a part of this ministry please contact us!
